Chander Prakash orders quality check of works along BB-Badhori Road

Acting on complaints by the public regarding use of sub standard  material in the construction of deep drain along  Bari Brahmana – Badhori road in Barjani, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today inspected the construction site and ordered collection of samples for quality tests.Ganga warned of strict action against the concerned contractor/officials if the samples collected failed the required quality norms.Meanwhile, the Minister also inspected the other ongoing development works in the area and directed the officers to monitor the works for ensuring quality standards.Later the Minister convened a meeting to review the implementation of various welfare schemes being implemented by Women Development Corporation and Rural Development Department in district Samba.

Ganga directed the concerned officers to generate awareness about welfare schemes meant for Socio-Economic Upliftment of Women with special focus on the families living Below Poverty Line (BPL) & Women belonging to Minorities, Backward & Other Classes. He also directed them to ensure greater participation of women in National and State level exhibitions of handicraft and handloom items providing them the requisite exposure.The Minister also urged NGO Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra to organize training and awareness camps in rural areas about welfare schemes.Among others MD, Women Development Corporation, J&K, Dr Naheed Soz, State Nutrition officer, Rural Development Department, Pramila Gupta, President, Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra, Veena Bakshi were present in the meeting.
