Sharjah concludes celebrations of the UAE 44th National Day

Over 50 thousand citizens, residents and visitors attended the celebration

The Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah announced the conclusion of the Emirate's celebrations following a range programs and activities attended by over 50 thousand citizens, residents and visitors.The celebrations, which took place over six days, included 22 activities and shows that took place in Sharjah’s popular attractions. The audience enjoyed a number of theatrical performances, musical concerts, art workshops and heritage exhibitions, as well as a number of episodes of Freej, the first ever Emirati cartoon series. The Flag Island Theater hosted the operetta “Nation of Hope” that told the history of the United Arab Emirates over 44 years of success and development. The operetta was written by Emirati poet Mosbeh Ali Al Kaabi with music by composer Khalid Al Nasser, and performed by Emirati artists Hussein Al Jassmi, Jassem Mohammed, Arwa Ahmed, and Saudi singer Ismail Mubarak, and featuring Director Dr Mohammed Yousef.

Another operetta titled “The Fortress of Safety and Security” was held at the Sharjah National Park, written and composed by Rashid Al Shamsi, with poetry by Matar Ramadan, and performed by students in the Theater Club from Ajman University of Science and Technology.The operetta addressed the importance of forts for Emirati people as a symbol of security and strength, and the expanding role of the country's heroic armed forces over the past few years, within the country's borders and beyond. It also highlighted the role of national service and covered current events locally and across the Arab region.The celebrations also included building sand installations that represented the heroism of Emirati soldiers and the sacrifices they made for their country, as well as a theatrical play on martyrs performed by students from the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, marking Martyrs Day which coincided with National Day celebrations.Celebrations were also organized by various public and private entities in the Emirate of Sharjah, expressing national pride and unity. Visitors and residents alike expressed their admiration of the UAE's rich heritage, its current successes and bright future.
