Parkash Singh Badal Reviews Development Projects Associated With The 150the Anniversary Of Lala Lajpat Rai At Dhudike

Punjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal today reviewed the progress of various development projects associated with the 150th birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai with the delegation of Panchayat members of his native village Dhudike in Moga district.While monitoring the progress of these projects during a meeting with the senior officers of the departments of PWD (B&R) and Cultural Affairs here at his residence this evening, the Chief Minister assured the village panchayat Dhudike that he would immediately take up the issue of getting the project related to the construction of underpass on Ajitwal-Dhudike road with the Union Ministry of Railways. Besides he also assured the village panchayat that he would also soon take up the matter of widening and strengthening of 8 KM stretch linking Dhudike with NH-95 via Churchak with the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways of India Mr. Nitin Gadkari on priority. 

Conceding another major demand of the village panchayat Dhudike- the birth place of Lala Lajpat Rai to cover the entire village under sewerage network, the Chief Minister directed the Additional Chief Secretary Water Supply & Sanitation Mr. Suresh Kumar to immediately get the survey for laying sewerage and installation of Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) conducted, so that the work in this regard could be taken up under the ongoing World Bank (WB) project.Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also asked the Deputy Commissioner Moga to get all the development projects under execution in village Dhudike including construction of an indoor Auditorium and installation of Astroturf in hockey stadium at a cost Rs.5 crore and Rs.3 crore respectively in the local Lala Lajpat Rai Government College (LLRGC) completed at the earliest. 

The Chief Minister assured the delegation that the 150th Birth Anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai ji on January 28, 2016 would be commemorated in a befitting manner to perpetuate the rich legacy of Lala Lajpat Rai through his philosophy, life and works. Mr. Badal exuded confidence that these momentous celebrations would go a long way in imbibing a sense of nationalism and patriotism amongst our youth.Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Tourism & Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal, Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs Mrs. Anjali Bhawra, Special Principal Secretary to CM Mr. KJS Cheema, Director Tourism & Cultural Affairs Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa and Deputy Commissioner Moga Mr. Parminder Singh Gill.
