JK Tourism Deptt attends India Travel Mart

Highlights state’s tourism potential, special packages

Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department is participating in a three day India travel mart being organized in Jaipur, Rajasthan.The Tourism promotion event, which commenced here today with its inauguration by the Principle Secretary Tourism Rajasthan, is being attended by various states of the country besides abroad as well. The objective of this gala event is to provide an effective platform to states of the Country present and highlight the tourism potential of their respective destinations to attract maximum tourist influx.The official team of J&K Tourism department, attending the mart, is comprised of Financial Advisory, Manu Gupta, Deputy Director Tourism Registration Kashmir and Assistant Director Tourism, Jammu. The officers are holding interactions with different states informing them about the special offers and unique tourism potential of the state.

During the event, Manu Gupta elaborated in detail the latest incentives and special tourism packages being available in the State for the tourists like recently initiated Heli service from Srinagar to Gulmarg and Srinagar to Pahalgam.The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department has established stalls exhibiting different categories of tourism potential in the State like pilgrim tourism, sports tourism, adventure tourism, etc.The focus of the department was promotion of winter tourism during which the government is going to organize several gala carnivals like Christmas day and New Year celebration. He also highlighted the potential and splendid grandeur of world famous skiing slopes of Gulmarg. He urged upon the representatives of the various States to raise awareness about the world famous tourism potential of Jammu and Kashmir in their respective States and tell their people to come here and enjoy the natural scenic splendor with which our State is blessed in abundance.
