The reign of terror unleashed throughout Kashmir valley especially in Sher-I-Khas (Downtown) Srinagar is worst kind of dictatorship. Firing tear gas shelling inside Jamia Masjid, punishing the traders and shopkeepers of Jamia and Nowhatta, vandalizing and ransacking their business establishments and shops and terrorizing youth is highly condemnable.This was stated by the chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik while speaking to traders, youth and other people who are on a protest sit-in in front of Jamia Masjid Srinagar.Earlier Mohammad Yasin Malik along with other leaders Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, basher Kashmiri and Muhammad Amin Magloo reached Jamia masjid Srinagar and sat on Dharna with traders, youth and other people.

According to a statement issued to KNS, speaking to the people present, Mohammad Yasin Malik said that he has come to Jamia Masjid to express solidarity with those who are being constantly terrorized by police and other forces.While strongly condemning the shelling inside Jamia Masjid, desecrating the holy mosque, vandalizing Jamia market, ransacking shops and thus inflicting traders with huge losses, Mohammad Yasin Malik said that Kashmir has today been turned into a police state where police and forces are actual rulers. He said that youth belonging to Sher-I-Khas (downtown Srinagar) have been terrorized by police and forces, nocturnal raids on their residences and humiliating their kith and kin have become the order of the day.He said that by unleashing this terror so-called rulers are actually pushing youth to the wall and hence are promoting a worst kind of violence.

JKLF chairman while strongly condemning this unilateral state sponsored violence, said that rulers who on daily basis are propagating battle of ideas have given police enormous powers and they with impunity are unleashing every kind of terror on common people of Kashmir.He assured traders, youth and other people of every support and said that we stand by them in this hour of need.Mohammad Yasin Malik also condemned the ongoing crackdown on JKLF activists in Hajin where police is terrorizing JKLF activist Danish Ahmad Dar. His residence is being raided daily and even his shop has been closed down by police. Police is also prolonging the incarceration of another JKLF activist Ishfaq Ahmad who was arrested on 4th November 2015 and is still languishing in Hajin police Chowki.Meanwhile JKLF has paid rich tributes to Aanjahani Harday Nath Wanchoo.

While recalling the struggle and efforts of late Aanjahani Harday Nath Wanchoo, who strived for human rights of Kashmiris, provided legal aid to hundreds of Kashmiris and raised voice against human rights abuses, JKLF said that Wanchoo was a noble hearted soul whose sacrifices will always be remembered.JKLF has also expressed condolences on the demise of uncle of JKLF activist Mushtaq Ahmad Kuchay and father of resistance leader Muhammad Yaseen Atayee. JKLF leaders advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, engineer Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi, Muhammad Sideeq shah visited the residences of the deceased and expressed condolences with their bereaved families.
