Lal Singh for holding health awareness camps in rural areas

Minister for Health and Medical Education Department Choudhary Lal Singh today inaugurated awareness cum health check-up camp at village Nowgriah in Bishnah.Director, Health Services, Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma besides other senior officers of Health Department were also present on the occasion.About 2350 villagers were checked and provided free medicines during the camp.Appreciating the efforts of health department for organizing medical check-up camp for the people of Nowgriah the Minister directed the department to organise more such camps especially in the rural and far flung areas to provide healthcare facilities to the people at their doorsteps.He stressed on generating mass awareness regarding health issues and  preventive measures  to be adopted to check spread of diseases .

The Minister said that sixty percent diseases are spread due to contaminated water and adequate steps are being taken to ensure safe potable water is provided to people .He informed that forty six water testing laboratories are being established in the state to ensure supply of safe drinking water to the people.The Minister also visited District Hospital Kathua and inspected the medicare facilities being provided to the patients in the hospital. Earlier, the Minister inaugurated a healthcare training programme at Government hospital Gandhi Nagar organised by the International Red Cross Society for the medicos and paramedics.Choudhary Lal Singh appreciated the commendable role of International Red Cross Society for organizing such orientation programmes for the health functionaries and keeping them informed with the latest advancements in the field.
