Cricket Diplomacy must for Indo- Pak Relations: Rafi Mir

PDP General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir has said that cricket diplomacy can pave way for cordial bilateral relations between India and Pakistan.Referring to proposal of T20 series between India and Pakistan to be held in Sri Lanka , Mir said that if MEA accords clearance to this series it will be an ice breaker in the stand off between India and Pakistan and will also improve the environment of discussion.In a statement to KNS, Mir said that although there is no alternative to dialogue but cricket diplomacy can be an instrumental in enhancing the relations between the two cricket playing nations as it is the most followed game in the subcontinent.He said that historically the country has witnessed thrice, visiting of Pakistan leadership in line of cricket matches that was symbolic of urge for peace on both sides.Mir said that it was PDP's desire and commitment to see Indo-Pak friendship for an imperative peace in the region."Friendship between India and Pakistan is ‘must’ for the civilians living peacefully along the international border and the state of Jammu and Kashmir in general he added.
