Says Development Of Sahnewal His Main Agenda, Development Works Worth Crores Carried Out Here

Punjab Irrigation Minister and MLA from Sahnewal constituency, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, today said that he is the son of Sahnewal constituency and would contest the 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections only from here. He said, "Some people are making false claims that I would not be contesting the election from here, which is totally baseless because I have given my sweat and blood for the development of Sahnewal constituency."Dhillon said this while speaking to media persons after laying the foundation stone of upgradation of a link road at village Boothgarh, near here. He said that with the upgradation of this link road, residents of all nearby villages would be benefitted in a big way.

The minister said that his own village, Bhagpur, is part of Sahnewal constituency and he could not even dream of shifting to some other place. "I am indebted to the people of Sahnewal constituency for the love and respect they have given me. I cannot leave the ongoing development works midway by shifting to some other constituency," Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said.While commenting on the upgradation of this particular link road, Mr Dhillon said that it was a long pending demand of area residents. He said that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government is committed for providing world class road infrastructure to the residents of the state. He said that sadly, some people with vested interest are trying to disrupt the ongoing development of the state with their malicious agenda. 

He said that Punjab is a peaceful state and would remain most peaceful because Punjabis are intelligent people and would not fall prey to such people.He asserted that there is no shortage of funds for development works and very soon, the entire road network of the state would be upgraded.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Meharban, SGPC member Ranjit Singh Mangli, Zila Parishad chairman Bhag Singh Maangarh, Youth Akali Dal leader Simranjit Singh Dhillon, Superintending Engineer (PWD) Varinderjit Singh Dhindsa, OSD to Irrigation Minister Sehajpreet Singh Mangat, besides several others.
