Education Minister Monitored The Work Of Evaluation Exam Of 5th, 8th Standard And T.E.T.

T.E.T Exam To Be Conducted Under Strict Security Arrangements At 400 Centres- Dr. Cheema

The Education Minister, Punjab, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today presided over a review meeting of the officers of the department. During the meeting, Dr. Cheema reviewed the arrangements for the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) to be conducted on 13th December and evaluation examination of 5th and 8th standard to be conducted by State Council of Education Research & Training (SCERT).During the meeting, held at Punjab Civil Secretariat, Dr. Cheema directed the officials to conduct the examinations successfully with tight security arrangements in place. He also instructed the Chairperson of the Punjab School Education Board and Principal Secretary of the Department to hold a meeting with the DGP regarding security arrangements besides conducting video conference with all the DC’s and SSPs to review all the arrangements.

Punjab School Education Board informed the Minister that so far nearly 1.75 lac examinees have enrolled for the TET-1 and TET-2 exam and 400 centers are being set up across the state for them. The board informed that that the seating arrangement entails a total of 28 students per room. The Education Minister ordered the officials to ensure videography at the time of opening of question papers in each centre. He also directed to maintain proper co-ordination with the local administration to ensure smooth flow of traffic so that the examinees should reach the examination centres in time.During the review of 5th and 8th standard evaluation exam, Director SCERT informed the minister that the exam would be conducted for 2,61,745 students of class 5 and 2,35,399 students of class 8. Minister directed proper and fair evaluation of the same.

The Minister enquired about the progress of online uploading of performance of teachers and was informed that so far 25 thousand teachers and 9 thousand lecturers have uploaded the same. He  directed the department to ensure that by all means the teachers should online upload their 5 year performance record of class 12 and class 10 by November 30 and  initiate action against teachers who fail to do so.Prominent among others who were present in the meeting included Principal Secretary Mr. C.Roul, Chairperson, PSEB Mrs. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Director General School Education Mr. Pardeep Aggarwal, DPI (Secondary Education) Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (Elementary Education) Mr. Harbans Singh Sandhu and Director SCERT Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon.
