The incarcerated Chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah on Tuesday paid glowing tributes to Bijbehara, Islamabad martyrs, Sartaj Ahmad Lone, Adil Ahmad Sheikh and Tanveer Ahmad Bhat.He said although we are grieved at the loss of the lives of these brave hearts, they achieved martyrdom.In a statement to KNS, Shabir Ahmad Shah said these martyrs are giving new direction to the freedom movement.He reiterated pledge of taking the mission of martyrs to its goal saying we are indebted to the sacrifices rendered by them.On the directions of Shabir Ahmad Shah, a delegation led by Manzoor Ahmad Ghazi which included Ghulam Rasool and others participated in the funeral procession and prayers of martyrs and paid tributes to them.Shabir Ahmad Shah also paid tributes to Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat on his 6th anniversary saying the deceased led his whole life while upholding higher value.Shah hailed Khwaja Sahib's contribution saying he infused new spirit in journalism in Kashmir by updating it at par with the modern lines.
"The deceased's contribution to Urdu language is also noteworthy and he will always be remembered for his services," he said.The DFP chairman while condemning the arrest spree across the state said the government had made life of youth hell.He expressed strong resentment over the nocturnal raids of youth in Palhallan and the arrest of students saying the Mufti Sayeed led government is playing with the careers of youth in order to save his own chair.He reminded Mufti Sayeed of his promises during election time regarding the release of prisoners, revocation of draconian laws like PSA."After achieving power, they forgot all their promises and even surpassed all the records of previous tyrant regimes," he said.Shah said the present situation is unacceptable and suggested government of mending its ways and not play with the lives and careers of youth.
