Agri Dept organizes two day farmer training prog at Samba

Two-day training within the district training of farmers was conducted by the department of Agriculture, District Samba in which more than 120 numbers of farmers participated.The program was conducted under CSS NAMET, Sub Mission “Support to State Extension Programme for Extension Reforms” ATMA Scheme.The training programme was inaugurated by Kulbushan Singh Sambyal, Chief Agriculture Officer Samba along with Ajit Kumar, Chief Horticulture Officer, Samba, Dr D V Singh Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Samba and Pawan Sharma, District Fisheries Officer, Samba.Sambyal informed that training is being provided to the batch of 30 farmers each from Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Animal and Sheep Husbandry by the experts from SKUAST-Jammu.

While interacting with farmers he advised them to adapt diversified agriculture to increase their socio economic status, he further apprised the farmers that all the Zonal Agriculture Stores of the district Samba are stocked with sufficient quantity of Rabi seed and advised the farmers to sow quality seed for good production.Dr Sahar Masud, Associate Professor, Fisheries & Dr Raj Kumar Asstt Prof. Fisheries from SKUAST -J gave a detailed lecture on Management of fish pond and integrated farming system on Fisheries.Dr Nazam Khan Asstt Prof ILFC provided training on General management of Livestock and poultry.

Earlier Shreshta Gaur, HDO Vijaypur gave a presentation on strawberry cultivation Vijay Bhushan Sharma Project Director ATMA and Ashok Gupta Dy Project Director also addressed the farmers,  other who were present during the occasion includes Subash Sharma, SDAO Samba, Yog Raj Singh Slathia AEO Vijaypur, and Sandeep Dogra JAEO (HQ).
