Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday said authorities are “desperately trying to save the killers of Gowhar Nazir Dar” who succumbed to injuries after hit by teargas shell allegedly fired by CRPF during protests on November 7 at HMT, hours after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally concluded in Srinagar.“First they kill our dear ones and then stage dramas of inquiries. After some months they give clean chit to killers,” Malik in a statement issued to GNS said while visiting the family of Gowhar Nazir Dar on Monday. He also visited the martyrs’ graveyard, HMT where a condolence meeting was held to pay tributes to the slain boy.Malik while addressing the condolence meeting said: “A promising and bright student of engineering was killed in a cold blood by Indian forces in broad daylight but rulers instead of arresting and penalizing his killers have yet again staged a drama of inquiry to save his killers.”

He said on April 18 this year, Suhail Ahmad Sofi was killed by police and forces at Narbal in same circumstances. “An inquiry was immediately called to divert attention of people and save the killers. Today, after eight months, killers have been provided a clean chit and firing of any bullet has been denied. This is the reality of these so-called inquiries whose sole purpose is to safeguard the killers. Kashmiris have no faith in these so-called rulers and their inquiries.”Malik said the “tyrant and oppressive” measures taken by the rulers cannot budge the resilient nation of Kashmir. “Despite all these atrocities, our resistance and struggle for freedom will continue.”

JKLF Chief was accompanied by party vice-chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Muhammad Amin Magloo, Muhammad Ramzan Sofi and others. The delegation expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.Meanwhile, JKLF has expressed condolences to GK photographer Imran on the demise of his father-in-law. The party prayed for the heavenly abode of the deceased and strength for the bereaved family.JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik also felicitated the senior photojournalist Mukhtar Khan for winning Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar award.“I appreciate the hard work and journalistic efforts of Mukhtar Khan who has made Kashmiris proud,” Malik said.
