Farmers awareness camp held at Bamyal

A one day Kissan Jagriti Camp was held at Bamyal Panchyat of Nagrota, Sub–Division Dansal.During the camp discussions and deliberations over the various issues of farmers were held. Emphasis was laid on various techniques to be adopted by the farmers to conserve soil moisture, Seed treatment, Top dressing of fertilizer, Weed Control etc for the enhancement of production under Agriculture Sector.While addressing and interacting with the farmers Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu, R L Bhagat said that farmers should avail the benefits of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes  including Kissan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme, Mushroom Cultivation, construction of Bio Gas Units, use of Spray Pumps and other improved implements & machinery.  He instructed the agriculture staff to expedite the ongoing Soil Health Card Scheme for coverage of all the farmers as per the guidelines and prepare list of farmers for various trainings within and outside the state.

S. Matinder Singh, ADO, Jammu and Savakar Anand, SDAO Dansal deliberated on seasonal vegetable cultivation and construction of vermicompost structures. Arun Kumar Gupta, AEO Nagrota spoke in detail about the various schemes and programmes of the department being implemented in the area and emphasized on the seed treatment and weed control. He said that sowing of Wheat Raj-3077 is complete and off-take of Wheat PBW-621 is under progress.  Manager J&K Grameen Bank Nagrota,  H. L. Kar also spoke regarding various bank schemes for the farmers including Kissan Credit Card (KCC) scheme and about 50 forms of KCC were completed on spot. Ram Singh, Sarpanch, Talib Hussain Naib-Sarpnach of Panchyat Bamyal along with panchs and progressive farmers Bambyal and adjoining villages also participated in the camp.The farmers demanded for Permanent Store at Bamyal which is being run as Seasonal Store presently.
