Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings, Chaudhary Lal Singh today conducted surprise nocturnal check of sub-district hospital, Dooru in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district here and took stock of the infrastructure and other facilities.The Minister, during the surprise inspection, interacted with the locals and urged them to report their grievances about health sector. Singh said that people need to be educated about their rights first, who he said could afterwards bring positive change on the ground viz-a-viz healthcare across the State.The Minister was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr MK Bhadari, DG ISM, Dr Kabir Dar, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr Sameer Mattoo, Project Director State AIDS Control Society, Dr Saleem Ur Rehman, Mission Director, Family Welfare, Dr Baldev Sharma, among senior health officials.

The Minister took round of the different wards and asked officials to show further improvement in the overall healthcare delivery in the Hospital. The Minister also issued specific directions to the CMO and his team to chalk out an effective mechanism to streamline the healthcare sytem.Meanwhile, the Ch Lal Singh also interacted with the common citizens at the hospital who shared their views and inputs for the betterment of the healthcare delivery in the Hospital.The Health Minister during his tour also visited the newly constructed 100-beded hospital at Dooru. He stressed upon the constructing agency to gear up their men and machinery to ensure timely completion of these project and to handover the hospital at the earliest.
