Detention of leaders, innocent youth condemnable, undemocratic act: Yasin Malik

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the continuous detention of various resistance leaders and hundreds of innocent youth, languishing in various police stations and interrogation centers of the valley and many of which have been even denied chance of meeting their kith and kin.In a statement issued to KNS, Malik while strongly condemning the continuous detention of Hurriyat leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Akbar Ayaz and Mehraj ud din Kalwal, ans himself said that hundreds of young boys and even children are facing the wrath of police and forces in police stations and detention centers from last many days.Many of those arrested especially in downtown Srinagar are even denied the chance of meeting their families in police stations and their families are being tortured emotionally, he said.

He said that hundreds of other innocent youth languishing in various police stations and detention centers across the valley are also facing immense difficulties and by using various tactics, authorities are prolonging their detention. He said that these young innocent boys and children have been arrested from their residences and kept in police stations and interrogation centers and their families are also being subjected to humiliations and other kind of tortures.Malik said that on Monday localities of downtown Srinagar like Khanyaar, Nowhata, Gojwara, Hawal, Rajouri Kadal, Nawakadal, Bohri Kadal, Safakadal, Noor Bagh and other adjacent areas, Civil Lines Srinagar, Batamaloo, HMT Zainakot, Anantnag, Pulwama, Sopore, Kulgam, and Biotangoo have been turned into a battle field by police and forces.

Nocturnal raids, arrests, restrictions and other oppressive measures have become the order of the day, the statement added. He said that the rulers who once used to stage protests against arresting youth and political leaders with utmost shamelessness have unleashed such kind of terror across the valley that many injured youth are reluctant from even going to hospitals for treatment.JKLF chairman said that so-called rulers and their police will get nothing from there oppressive tactics and by pushing peaceful youth to the wall, these hypocritical and tyrant rulers are actually promoting violence only.

He said that such ill-behaved tactics with known political leaders and innocent young boys and children is highly undemocratic and worst kind of oppression that can only be termed as a glaring example of unilateral state sponsored violence.

While appealing international community and international human rights organization to take a serious note of this oppression unleashed against innocent unarmed Kashmiris, Mohammad Yasin Malik said that international community and human rights institutions like amnesty international, Asia watch, united nations human rights organization and ICRC should fulfill their pledges try to save innocent Kashmiri youth and peaceful political activists from growing oppressive behavior of India and its Kashmiri puppets and forces .

Meanwhile JKLF chairman expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Bilal Ahmad Kakapori.While paying tributes to the deceased, Mohammad Yasin Malik that Bilal Kakapori was a dedicated person who always remained steadfast in resistance and struggle for freedom. He was a humble person and wedded to the cause of Islam and freedom.Mohammad Yasin Malik while expressing condolences to his bereaved family, prayed for his heavenly abode and also for the Sabr I Jamil of his bereaved family. JKLF distract President Javied Ahmad Bhat and Secretary Tariq Ahmad participated in funeral prayers of the deceased. (KNS)
