Asiea Naqash inspects government hospitals

Says Govt. committed to provide best healthcare facility to people

Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Ms Asiea Naqash today said that government is committed to provide best healthcare facilities to people in all health institutions.The Minister today visited Gousia Hospital, Khanyar, Maternity Home, General OPD Sanatnagar and Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla and took stock of healthcare facilities being provided to patients.At Gousia Hospital the Minister interacted with staff members and the patients. She enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients and directed ensuring better patient care in the hospital.The Minister was informed that the hospital caters to about 500 patients in OPD on a daily basis besides different kinds of medical diagnosis tests are also done.  She also interacted with locals and gave on the spot instructions to sort out the issue related to hospital waste disposal.

At Maternity home and General OPD Sanatnagar, Ms. Asiea expressed concern that hospital is unable to attract patients despite having every facility. She was informed that the hospital caters to 20-30 patients in OPD on a daily basis. She said that the hospital located at a vital location could reduce rush to Lal Ded Hospital by taking more patients from the tertiary hospital. She asked the concerned staff to take steps to motivate patients for shifting from other hospitals to Maternity Home.The Minister, later visited B&J Hospital where she inspected the facilities available to patients. She asked the doctors to take extra care of sanitation and gave on the spot directions to immediately start work on the renovation of central heating system. She was informed that the hospital caters to more than 600 patients in OPD on a daily basis and work on various facilities for patients is underway.The Minister also visited the adjacent MRI unit that has been established on a Public Private Partnership. She was informed that the MRI test is done at the unit for Rs 2500 as against the market rate of Rs 6000.
