Lal Singh launches health department Helpline

Urges people to register grievances, complaints on 0191-2541500 for immediate action

Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh today inaugurated “Hello Health Minister” helpline at Super-Specialty Hospital in Resham Ghar here.The helpline would help people reach the Health Minister directly with their grievances and suggestions regarding the issues in health and other related departments.MLA East Mr Rajesh Gupta, MLC S Charanjeet Singh, Secretary Health and Medical Education Department Dr Mandeep K Bhandari, Principal Government Medical College Jammu Dr Ghanshyam Dev, Director Health Services Jammu Dr Baljeet Singh Pathania, Mission Director NHM Dr Mohan Singh, Director Family Welfare Jammu Dr Baldev Raj Sharma besides other senior officers of Health and Medical Education departments were present on the occasion.

Immediately after inaugurating the Call Centre, Lal Singh received calls from several areas of the state including Rajouri, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Poonch, Reasi, Kishtwar, Doda, Kulgam, Baramulla, Anantnag and Srinagar. The Minister patiently listened to the grievances of the people and assured appropriate redressal. In certain cases he issued on-the-spot directions.The callers appreciated the new initiative of the Health Minister and felt satisfied for on-the-spot redress of their grievances.The Minister also instructed concerned officers to inform him about the action taken report on the directions passed on certain issues of immediate concern.

Lal Singh said the new initiative will encourage people to bring their grievances directly into the notice of the Health Minister who will personally attend public calls on telephone number 0191-2541500 on 16th day of every month between 11 am to 1 pm. He said on the remaining days people can call on the given telephone number between 10 am to 4 pm and register their grievances which will be forwarded to the concerned controlling officer for immediate redress. Choudhary Lal Singh asked the Medical Superintendent, Super -Specialty hospital Dr Ramesh Gupta to supervise, monitor and control the Hello Health Minister helpline round the clock and forward the public grievances to the concerned controlling officers on daily basis. He also directed that the list of complaints and action taken report shall be submitted to his office and to the Secretary Health and Medical Education on daily basis.
