Awami Itihad Party (AIP) President and independent MLA Er Abdul Rashid on Friday accused the mainstream political parties of “digging grave of Kashmiris’ interest by acting as collaborators and mouthpieces of New Delhi”.He also appealed the intellectual class, civil society, lawyers and other organisations “to wake up against the injustices being done with Kashmiris”. “Not only are huge sacrifices offered by Kashmiris tactfully wasted but the much hyped PM’s financial package has also proved to be like stabbing from behind,” Er Rashid, according to statement, while addressing a meeting of party workers in Handwara, said.He said the details provided by the Chief Minister Mufit Muhammad Sayeed about breakup of package reveals not only establishing of IIT and IIM in Jammu but also the setting up of AIIMS in Jammu.

“Mufti and others owe an explanation as to why Kashmir is deprived of the same”.He said we will organise a peaceful, organised and collective public campaign to seek IIT and IIM for Kashmir and dignified rehabilitation of flood victims. The independent MLA said: “The government has offered huge financial package to West Pakistani Refugees (WPR) and Kashmiri Pandits who still call themselves as migrants despite the fact that they get jobs in Kashmir. New Delhi has to explain that if it can honour Kashmiri Pandits with all that what they want, why it couldn’t spend a penny on the rehabilitation of internally displaced Muslims in valley, Doda and Poonch regions.”He said it is ironic that Kashimiri Pandits, who call themselves as migrants, get jobs to serve in Kashmir. “This proves their migration drama is more to get perks, privileges and jobs rather to ensure their better security.”Rashid said the government has added salt to the injuries of flood victims as the package is just an eye-wash.“We should evolve a broad based consensus for the future course of action in this regard and will publicly campaign for our demands,” Rashid added.
