Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today termed Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's visit to Punjab as a continuation of the divisive politics followed by the Gandhi family which had earlier resulted in Operation Bluestar and the 1984 Sikh genocide. While interacting with media persons here after distributing 120 bicycles to the girl students of Shaheed Captain Amardeep Singh Government Senior Secondary School Majitha, Mr. Majithia Rahul's recent visit could be seen in this light as he has tried to relaunch the Congress party in Punjab on the pretext of sympathising with Sikhs over the recent sacrilege incidents. "What moral ground do you have to cry crocodile tears over incidents of sacrilege when your grand mother Indira Gandhi was responsible for destroying thousands is Bir Sahabs during Operation Bluestar and your father incited mobs to massacre Sikhs in Delhi", Mr Majithia asked.

Questioning Mr. Rahul Gandhi as to why the Congress had provided  a shield to Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar who hd engineered the Sikh genocide in 1984, Mr. Majithia said on one hand Rahul Gandhi was projecting himself as a close sympathiser of the Sikhs but on the other his family right from Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and he, himself, had left no stone unturned to protect the perpetrators and culprits behind the 1984 Sikh massacre. He also accused the Gandhi clan of deliberately denigrating Sikhs, Punjab and Punjabis by using various political tactics and said now  Rahul was out to add fuel to the unfortunate incident of desecrations in Punjab.Cautioning the Congress Party against politics being played by it over the serious and sensitive issue of sacrilege, Mr. Majithia said the people of Punjab were well aware about the fact that some anti-Punjab forces were trying to disrupt the hard earned peace of Punjab under a well planned conspiracy and would not allow anyone to succeed in these nefarious designs. He said if Rahul really sympathised with Sikhs he would have visited the victims of 1984 genocide.Earlier Mr. Majithia visited villages of his constituency namely Daddian, Kotla Gujjran, where he gave away the cheques of grants worth Rs. 23 lakh and 37 lakh respectively for development purposes. The Minister also distributed 356 bicycles to girl student of class XII of Shaheed Captain Amardeep Singh Governemnt Senior Secondary School Majitha under Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme.
