CGC Jhanjeri organized Annual Techno-cultural function under the theme celebrating technology

Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri is organized its Annual Techno-cultural Fest with the theme of Celebrating Technology. As many as 10,000 students from almost 25 institutes of tricity participated in this function. Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Hon’ble Education Minister, Punjab was Chief Guest at the moment.Chief Guest Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema while encouraging the students said that India is a country of youngsters and has immense talent but they need to improve skill development. According to him Youth with skills and ability can tackle global challenges. India currently faces a severe shortage of well-trained, skilled workers. It is estimated that only 4% of the workforce in India has undergone formal skill training as compared to 68% in the UK, 75% in Germany, 52% in USA, 80% in Japan and 96% in South Korea. Large sections of the educated workforce have little or no job skills, making them largely unemployable. 

Therefore, India must focus on scaling up skill training efforts to meet the demands of employers and drive economic growth.The fest was full of lively cultural, Technical & Non-Technical events.Cultural events including Alaap-solo singing, surkshetra, Punjabi virsa dances, Mimicry,  etc. were performed by the students where as  other events like Quiz competition, Maze runner, Polo climbing robot, Techno-skic, Poster presentation, Autocad, Programming League, Project Demonstration, Computer quiz, Tech Hunt, Gaming Zone, Logo Addiction, Bridge the Gap etc were technical events . Non-technical events at the moment consisted of Colour your Thoughts, Mishmash, Toon Draw, Splash, New Look, Mehandi, Nail Art, Mega Tower, Rise the Tower etc , which were center attraction of the show .Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said said at the moment that such fests help in developing the overall personality of students and generate a spirit of healthy competition among the participants who come from various colleges of different states.
