Stressing on better deliverance in public service at grass root level, Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar has said that people’s cooperation in all areas of policing is imperative to yield good results. He said that maintenance of law and order with a human approach should be our priority to project the JKP as a model Police force.Rajendra was addressing the cops at all district headquarters of south Kashmir Range during his day long visit today. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has fought the challenge of militancy with courage and fortitude, ensuring security and safety of the public.Rajendra, elaborating the various aspects of professional policing said that crime control is one of the responsibilities of state police and our focus should be to bring the cases to logical end on merits He said that investigating officers should adopt latest scientific methods of investigations to bring the culprits to justice. Crimes against women and human rights violations need to be attended on priority, with a behavioral change to ensure people friendly policing, traffic management and fight against corruption, Mr. Rajendra said.

During the visit, Mr. Rajendra also addressed officers meetings at Shopian, Kulgam and Awantipora and sought   reports from the officers with regard to overall security scenario of the range, law and order, anti-militancy operations and crime status in the range.DIG SKR, Mr. Nitish Kumar and District superintendents of police apprised the DGP about the measures put in place to keep the law and order maintained. He said that various steps were taken to avert the ill designs of bad elements. He said that the steps have brought good results and a sense of security has been instilled among the masses.

Rajendra stressed upon the officers to maintain close coordination between different security agencies to ensure law and order in their respective jurisdictions.  He said that continuous vigil needs to be maintained on the activities of anti-national elements who are hell bent upon to hamper the peaceful atmosphere and developmental activities. He reiterated that our fight would continue and side by side we have to enhance our capabilities to deliver better results at grass root level.DGP was accompanied by IGP (Kashmir Zone), Mr.SJM Gillani, District Superintendents of Police of South Kashmir, Mr. Tejendra Sing, Mr. Altaf Ahmed Khan,, Mr. Mumtaz Ahmed, Mr. Abdul Jabar and Mr. Irshad Ahmed and other police officers.
