Industrial giants shower praise for dynamic vision of Sukhbir Singh Badal

Putting their stamp of approval on the dynamic vision of Punjab Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal to make Punjab an industrial and technological major and appreciating his go-getter attitude, the big names of the corporate and industrial world today fully endorsed his action plans during 2nd progressive Punjab Investor Summit that concluded here at ISB Mohali.Shobana Kamineni, vice president of Apollo group and executive vice president of CII has said that “this is the state where government and bureaucracy have made it easy for investment under the dynamic leadership of Deputy Chief Minister.” She also announced that Apollo group would set up a hospital at Amritsar ata cost of Rs 1200 crore.R.S. Sodhi MD Amul, in his address has said “after the meeting with Deputy CM at Delhi Amul planned to engage the farmers of Punjab on the pattern of Anand (Gujarat) dairy farming”. Saying that Amul had started its operations at Batala he announced that dairy giant will launch its units at Khamano and Bathinda soon. Mr. Sodhi said that 1000 villages of the state would be covered at initial stage with an investment of Rs. 150 crore.

Speaking on the occasion Manish Sabharwal, chairman Teamlease group called the investors to invest in Punjab by saying that “world is looking for Punjab as the state has created an ample infrastructure”. Advising the entrepreneurs to invest in Punjab Michael Goettl CEO Bunge Asia declared that the company is all set to start the big food processing unit in Rajpura soon.Trident group chairman Rajinder Gupta has a word of praise for deputy CM for establishing one stop mechanism “Invest Punjab” for granting all approvals to setup units and said that “only you can dare to do that besides quick decisions”.Anirudh Dhoot director Videocon group said “he had visited many states but the kind of stable political environment and speedy clearances found only in Punjab”. In a major announcement he also announced to set up Mobile and set-top box manufacturing unit in Punjab.Nahar group of company’s vice chairman Kamal Oswal has said that “a sea of change was noted in the investment environment as the focus of Punjab government is as a facilitator not as regulator”. Talking about the peaceful environment in the state he said “we are here from 65 years but never faced any labour unrest.”COO, Swaraj division Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. Viren Popli said that “we welcome the decisions of Punjab government. We are encouraged to grow and expand in Punjab.”
