Asks officers to speed up developmental tempo

Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs Ch Zulfkar Ali, Tuesday convened a high level meeting to discuss various issues relating to Tribal Affairs in the State.In the meeting threadbare discussion was held and various decisions taken to ensure speedy completion of ongoing developmental works.During the meeting progress of construction of computer laboratories was reviewed and it was decided that all 16 computer labs, 8 each in Kashmir and Jammu divisions shall be completed during current financial year, of which 8 labs shall be completed by December end this year.In the meeting transfer of money amounting to Rs. 143.86 Lakh from Social Welfare Department to Tribal Affairs Department was also approved. 

On the occasion, the Minister directed Chief Engineer R&B to speed up construction work of all buildings under Tribal Affairs Department, being executed by R&B and to ensure that all works to be completed within the stipulated time. He also said that Department of Tribal Affairs shall not allow any kind of cost escalation and asked to formulate  uniform drawing /type design for all computer labs and Youth Hostels so that similar structures could be developed in all regions across the State.In the meeting, Director Tribal Affairs was also nominated as nodal officer to liaise with concerned executing agency.
