Saying that media has pivotal role in reformation and transformation of Society, the Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Forests and Animal Husbandry, Abdul Majeed Padder has called for strengthening the bonds of mutual brotherhood, love, compassion and tolerance among the people of the State. He said voluntary social service should be every ones motive so that no one is left helpless.The Minister said this while addressing Annual Achievement Award 2015 to acknowledge the services of those, who have contributed for the betterment of people and society. 

The function was organized by a private news agency at Government Higher Secondary School D.H Pora, Noorabad. On the occasion, Mr. Padder distributed awards and appreciation certificates among 42 persons including social workers, government functionaries, members of various NGO’s, students, media persons and public representatives, who have performed excellent work for the welfare of society and by helping needy people, besides in reformation of society.Lauding the role of media and general public for their contribution in the betterment of society and upliftment of deprived and needy, Mr. Padder said humans are born with heart of compassion which reacts in accordance to the feelings of fellow humans so we must do something for benefit of fellow humans. 

He underscored the importance and need of volunteer public service in present world and emphasized upon one and all to contribute a bit for the welfare and betterment of mankind.He urged for voluntary participation of youth in social activities besides playing pivotal role in eradication of social evils from society. He also underscored the role of people in day to day governance and asked them to play their role in improving functioning of governance.Mr. Padder also announced Rs 5 lakh for Infotech Educational Institute D.H.Pora for upgradation of educational facilities in the school.On the occasion, officers from district administration, Kulgam, Public representatives, students, eminent citizens of the district were also present.

Earlier, the students of various educational institutions presented different colourful and mesmerizing cultural programmes which lured the audience present.
