Asiea visits Imambara Hassanabad, reviews Muharram arrangements

Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Asiea Naqash today visited Hassaabad in old city to review the arrangements put in place by the administration in connection with Muharram.Muharram, first month of Islamic calendar began from today.The Minister had a joint meeting of senior officers of administration and representatives of different localities of the area including Hassanabad, Mir-Bheri, Nundpora etc.Ms. Asiea received a detailed brief regarding Muharram arrangements from the officers regarding power and water supply, sanitation, repairs of roads and lanes and supply of ration and fire wood etc.Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmed briefed the Minister about the arrangements and informed that one month’s advance ration is being supplied to the consumers in the Shia dominated areas. He assured that the matter of supplying of sugar will be looked into and taken up with Director CAPD.

Chief Engineer, Power Mr. Bashir Ahmed Khan informed the Minister that the schedule of uninterrupted power supply during nights have been started from today. He further informed that generator sets shall also remain available in the area to meet the requirement in case of any disruption in power supply.Commissioner, SMC Srinagar Mr. Showket Ahmed Zargar informed that 2000 street lights have been procured to install in the areas of Imambaras and Muharram Procession routes. He also informed that number of lanes and drains have been repaired in the areas.Other officers also gave details regarding the arrangements put in on the occasion.

The local people expressed satisfaction over the arrangements put in by the administration. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister asked concerned officers to take care of cleanliness in and around Imambaras and procession routes. She also directed health department to put one Ambulance with doctor and paramedics available in the area. She also announced provision of lighting Jar in the Imambara Hassanabad.The Minister also directed UEED officers to ensure proper drainage in the area by pressing Water Master Machine into services.Later, the Minister met various deputations and resolved many local issues by directing concerned officers on the spot. She also assured them that their demands would be fulfilled on priority basis.
