Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura Thursday directed district administration Budgam to put in place an effective mechanism to ensure availability of essential supplies viz adequate drinking water, healthcare, ration and electricity during Muharram days in the district.The Minister gave these directions while chairing a meeting to review arrangements for Muharram, here.On the occasion Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmed presented a detailed report with regard to arrangements made for Muharram in the district.It was informed in the meeting that there are more than 300 Imam Badas are in the district. 

It was also given out that the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department has already given additional quota of sugar through Sonpah, Magam, Khanda, Budgam, Chadoora, Bemina and Achgam depots. In addition, the said department is also giving advance ration for the month of November 2015 to consumers in the district on demand. During the meeting, Mr. Hanjura emphasized upon hassle-free transport service and availability of essential supplies like power, drinking water and firewood to the people.The Minister directed Deputy Commissioner to ensure functionality of streetlights around Imam Badas and places en-route Muharram processions and Majalis.The Minister also directed concerned to ensure immediate necessary repairs of roads and link roads leading to Imam Badas.
