Minister for Health, Medical Education and ARI, Choudhary Lal Singh, convened a meeting of representatives of different political parties,  religious leaders, NGOs, BAR  Association and prominent citizens to discuss public welfare issues besides deliberating upon the significance of maintaining peace and brotherhood for good of the mankind here yesterday.

MLA Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, SSP, Suleman Choudhary,  Additional Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana,  Director health Services, Dr B.S.Pathania, Director NHM, Dr Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, PO DRDA, Officers of different departments besides prominent citizens were present on the occasion.

While speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that timely feedback on matters of public welfare is imperative for redressing the public grievances and promotion of peace, security and harmony in the entire district.Describing peace as a prerequisite for development of the state, the Minister said that government is well abreast with the needs and aspirations of people of all the regions of the state and is determined to uphold the state’s high ethos and values. In this regard, he termed the contribution of common public as of utmost importance.The Minister said that the government is committed to overall development of the area adding that several developmental works have been initiated in last seven months. He exhorted upon the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing developmental works in their respective areas so that funds allotted would be expended with transparency and accountability.           

MLA, Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat, urged upon the people to help in maintaining brotherhood, secularism and communal harmony in the district which is vital for growth and development of any area.DDC  Udhampur Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary gave a brief account of developmental activities going on in the district and said that a convergent plan has been prepared with the involvement of local people in which as many as 100 bridges would be constructed in the district.The people of the district put forth their suggestions for effective implementation of development works and assured the administration full support in maintaining secular ethos and peace in the district.
