Illegal allotment of 36 shop-sites cancelled at Transport Nagar Jammu: Mohammad Ashraf Mir

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development,  Mohammad Ashraf Mir informed the House that 36 shop-sites which were illegally allotted in 2002-03 by the then VC, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) in Yard No: 6 at Transport Nagar, Jammu have been cancelled in pursuance to the decision of the JDA Board of Directors in its 74th meeting held on 11 June 2015.This was stated by the Minister while replying to a question by Surinder Kumar Choudhary in the Legislative Council today. The Minister said no shops have been allotted during last 6 years in the said yard. He said the allotment of shop-sites and commercial sites in the Transport Yard is being made by JDA through auction as per the procedure.The Minister said that action is being taken under due procedure of law for eviction of illegal possessions.

Minister of State for Power, Mr Mohammad Ashraf Mir said that 2 MW Karnah Hydroelectric Project is presently under operation.This was stated by the Minister while replying to a question by Javaid Ahmad Michal in the Legislative Council today. The Minister said that J&K State Power Development Corporation Limited (JK SPDC) has prepared Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR) for upgradation of Karnah HEP from 2 MW to 12 MW.The Minister said that a consultant has been engaged by JK State Power Development Corporation Limited for upgradation of Detailed Project Report of Karnah HEP. He said a draft DPR has been submitted by the consultant which is under appraisal. He said after preparation of final DPR further steps would be taken.Zafar Iqbal Manhas raised supplementary to the main question.
