The alleged attack on another Kashmiri truck driver by a mob at Udhmapur in Jammu triggered protests at Mir Bazaar in Anantnag district on Sunday.As soon as a truck driver Sayar Ahmad Nayak of Mir Bazaar who was allegedly attacked and injured by a mob in Udhampur returned to his home town, people staged protest demonstrations and blocked highway against the alleged attack on him.The injured Sayar who spoke to KNS said that he was attacked by a group of around 20 people with petrol bombs at Udhampur on Sunday morning when he was on his way to Kashmir from Punjab.He said that he gas got injured and his truck bearing number JK 18-4092 has also suffered damages when the mob attacked him.

He also alleged police at Udhampur did not file FIR in the case. “I went to police soon after I was attacked but police did not file any case. Now I have filed FIR in a local police station as Jammu police did not register it,” he alleged.Meanwhile, DC Anantnag Muneer-ul- Islam who visited the spot confirmed to KNS that protesters blockade roads at Mir Bazaar. “Protests were held but soon the roads were opened and traffic was resumed after I pacified the protesters,” he said.
