Sukhbir Lays Foundation Stone Of Rs.80 Crore Project Of 4 Laning Of Morinda-Kurali-Siswan Road

The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that with the setting up of New Chandigarh City, a World Class Cricket Stadium, Medi-City and Education Hub was all set to change the development scenario of Mullanpur region. Addressing a public rally after laying the foundation stone of Rs.80 crore project of 4 laning of Morinda-Kurali-Siswan upto Punjab boundary, the Deputy Chief Minister reiterated the firm commitment of SAD-BJP government to provide world class infrastructure in the Urban as well as Rural areas of the state. He said that SAD-BJP government was going to develop the Mullanpur area at par with Chandigarh with special focus on creating large number of job opportunities for the youngsters. He said that with the completion of this road project the traffic flow from Morinda to Baddi would be more smoothen. He said that the construction of 4 laning of Siswan T-road to PGI was going on full swing and would be completed with in a year. He said that 150 acre Medi-City would have a super speciality cancer hospital and the education hub would be developed in 1500 acres of land so that world class education facilities could be created for the coming generations to make them employable in every nook and corner of the world. He said that our government has chalked out an ambitious plan of Rs.8600 crore to provide potable drinking water and sewerage connectivity to each house hold with in next 3 years. He said that to check the serious problem of water pollution, the state government has started a Rs.1000 crore project to ensure setting up of sufficient number of sewerage treatment plants so that only treated water should be allowed to discharge in water channels to keep the purity of all rivers and canals of the state intact. Earlier, kick starting Rs. 2500 crore 4 laning project of Chandigarh-Bathinda road at Banur, Badal said that Punjab was all set to link all major towns with 4/6 lane roads in next two years at the cost of Rs. 13,000 crore. He inspects the alignment and construction of Zirakpur-Patiala 4 lane expressway (NH-64) and issued necessary directions to ensure world class quality of this important road connection. He said that Punjab was the only state that built 29 ROBs during last five years at the cost of Rs. 402 crores. He said that with the completion of Chandigarh-Bathinda expressway, the main road artery between Chandigarh and heartland of Malwa, the traffic flow between Chandigarh and Bathinda refinery would be smooth and it would also facilitate the flow of traffic to the neighbouring state of Haryana. Ealier Ujjagar Singh Badali, Former MLA welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister and expressed gratitude for sanctioning liberal grants besides approving world class projects for the development of the area. Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Gurbachan Singh Babehali, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, P.S. Aujla, Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister and Secretary PWD (B&R), Harbhajan Mann, President District Planning Committee and Jasjit Singh Bunny, Former MLA.
