Rs 7.34 cr released to Poonch campus of JU: Naeem Akhtar

Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar said that Rs. 7.34 crore have been released to Poonch campus and Rs. 4.30 crore has been spent on infrastructure creation.The Minister said this while replying to a question by Yashpal Sharma in the legislative Council. The Minister said that land measuring 61 kanals and 07 marlas is in possession of Jammu University for establishment of Poonch campus. He said the construction activities were hampered by September-2014 floods and land dispute. The Minister said the construction activities have also been affected because UGC has not extended life of PMRP project beyond 31st March 2015, adding that issue has taken up with UGC for extension of project.
