Christmas arrangements discussed

To discuss the arrangements for ensuing Christmas festival, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu convened a meeting of senior officers and members of Christian community on Tuesday.Among others, SP City North Yougal Manhas, SP Security Jammu Ashok Singh Sambyal, DHO Jammu Dr. Sanjay Turki, Deputy Director Information, Jyoti Salathia, SE PWD S. P. Manhas, Secretary JMC Naresh Kumar, AC (UT) Dr. Piyush Singla , Deputy SP Traffic Naseem Akhter, XEN PDD, A.K. Chibber, Assistant Director CAPD Ghar Singh, AEEs and other senior officers besides representatives from Christian community attended the meeting.The DC directed the officers of various departments to ensure that coordinated efforts are made to make apt arrangements for the  coming festival days. It was informed in the meeting that on a procession shall be taken out on December 21st and starting from Residency Road shall pass   through the bazaars of Jammu city. As many as fifteen jhankis will be takeout depicting various aspects of the life of Jesus Christ.

CAPD department was directed to ensure adequate supply of ration especially  sugar   besides JMC was asked to ensure proper sanitation and repair the defunct street lights besides installation of additional lights around the churches and also setting up of mobile toilets at main venues, while PHE Department was asked to make adequate water supply at the main venues for the convenience of the people.The Deputy Commissioner also instructed Power Department to ensure proper lighting arrangements in addition to un-interrupted power supply to all the Churches in Jammu city throughout the festival days.Sahu enjoined upon the concerned departments to make adequate medical facilities, security, traffic and parking arrangements, fire tenders to be stationed at vital locations and provision of transportation for the convenience of the people during the festival days.
