Member Parliament from Bathinda  Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said that people of Punjab voted for the development as they have reposed their affirm faith in the  policies of Shiromani Akali Dal in the recent Vidhan Sabha and civic bodies elections in the state. She was speaking at the joining of Bachowala Panchayat and hundreds of supporters from Congress and PPP to SAD. She said that under the leadership of S. Parkash Singfh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal SAD BJP combine would wipe out Congress from the political scene in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. She also honored them with siropas and said that SAD would give them due respect and honour in the Party.While visiting the villages of Mansa, . Badal expressed happiness over the achievement of Mr. Swaran Singh a native of Daler Wala village in District Mansa in reaching Quarterfinal of rowing boat event in the London Olympics. She expressed hope that Swaran Singh would reach in the finals and win a gold medal for the country. While reviewing the progress the sewing centres running under Nanhi Chan Project in the villages of Budhlada tehsil in District Mansa, She appreciated maximum participation and enthusiasm of girls in the ongoing Nanhi Chan projects in the state. She also distributed stitching equipments to the girls who have successfully completed their training at various centers under the aegis of Nanhi Chaan. Exhorting the girls,  Badal gave a clarion call to the public in general and girls in particular to have better education so that they could  play a key role in improving and uplifting the society and join maximum sports events because of their innate qualities of sincerity and dedication. She also called for total eradication of dowry and female foeticide. She made a fervent appeal to the public to stay united against the female foeticide and dowry system prevailing in our society. She also urged the parents to ensure their daughters’ participation in other nation building tasks in order to bring about a radical change in socio-moral values. She also distributed the certificates, sewing equipments and saplings on the occasion to the girls who have passed out. She emphasized the need to save the girl-child as well as the environment in order to protect the society in Punjab.
