Rather inaugurates bridge at Shopora Chadoora

A 2x25 metres span steel girder bridge at Shopora, Chadoora with a total project cost of Rs. 225 lakhs was inaugurated today by Minister for Finance and Ladakh affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather.  An expenditure of Rs. 149.27 lakhs has been incurred on the project till November 2013 which includes provision for construction of approach roads and other allied works along with the construction of Shopora bridge by the executing agency, R&B.This bridge stands on Nallah Apzeri and will serve as a connecting link between villages like Shopora, Chowdarigund, Hapru Batpura, Brinjan etc. with a population of few thousand souls.The Minister after inaugurating the bridge addressed a huge public gathering who accorded him a warm welcome. While addressing the people he stressed that he has fulfilled almost all the genuine demands of the people like a middle school, boundary wall of the school, provision of two Anganwari Centres and a Ration Ghat too and finally Shopora bridge which his political opponents and cynics thought was unachievable, to which people agreed and hailed it.He reminded the people that he has been chosen by them and the credit of his selection to various national forums goes firstly to the people of his Constituency.Giving a patient hearing to various needs and demands of the people, Mr Rather accepted their demand of having a primary health centre in the region and also a unit of animal husbandry and said that the same shall be fulfilled on priority. He also warned the people of pisive forces whose sole aim is to come to power and advised them to exercise their precious right of selecting their representative consciously and judiciously.
