Sagar for extending all facilities to Srinagarites
Jora assures of modernising facilities

A high level meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ali Mohammad Sagar convened to review the pace of development and welfare measures under execution in Srinagar city.Minister for Urban Development, Nawang Rigzin Jora, pisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Shailendra Kumar, Commissioner, SMC, Dr. G.N. Qasba, Chief Engineer UEED and other senior officers attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Sagar asked the officers of various departments to work with dedication and enthusiasm in speeding up the development programmes aimed at making Srinagar city one of the modern cities of the country, equipped with all hi-tech facilities for the residents as well as the visitors in view of its tourist attraction. Expressing concern over the lenient attitude towards sewerage and drainage in downtown areas by the officers concerned as well as certain areas of Dal Lake, Mr. Sagar directed for formulating significant projects for solving all the problems confronting Srinagarites. The Minister said that stern action will be taken against defaulters who are found showing irresponsible attitude towards their duties. However, Sagar ppreciated SMC for doing yeoman’s service for the Srinagar habitations and hoped that SMC will keep it up in future too. On this occasion, Mr. Jora assured Mr. Sagar that his department will leave no stone unturned in giving new look to Srinagar city and assured that the every step in being taken to modernise the facilities for the people living in Srinagar city.
