Commissioner JMC visits various Mosques, reviews preparedness for Eid-ul-Azha

Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Mandeep Kaur along with Joint Commissioner Administration R. S. Jamwal and other officers of Sanitation and Works visited various Mosques falling within the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation in view of Eid-ul-Azha and took stock of basic facilities being provided by Jammu Municipal Corporation like sanitation and civil works in different areas.Commissioner JMC visited Eidgah Residency Road, Talab Khatkian, CPO Chowk, Ustad Mohalla, Jamboolochan Community Hall, Collection Point opposite Jambolochan Community Hall, Gujjar Nagar, Eidgah Malik Market, Mosque of Rail Head, Panama Chowk, Gandhi Nagar and took stock of cleanliness and other essentials there.During the tour, the Commissioner issued on spot directions to the concerned officers as well as to the field staff for ensuring proper sanitation in and around all mosques and also roads, lanes and bye lanes leading to all mosques and spraying of lime. She also approved on the spot various civil works on the public demand and directed the works officers to initiate the tendering process at the earliest.

 Later, Mandeep Kaur also convened a meeting to review preparedness for the week long programme on Swach Bharat Abhiyan from September 26 to October 02, 2015.Threadbare discussion was held on various issues for the successful conduct of weeklong programme.It was informed in the meeting that the programme will be conducted in ten wards of Jammu city and the inaugural function to be held at Raghunath Mandir chowk on September 26, 2015.

Commissioner impressed upon various stake holders to put in their sincere efforts so that the programme would be grand success.Among others, the meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner Works Kushal Chand, AC (R) Subah Mehta, officers from various departments and representatives of private institutions.During the meeting various department and private institutions informed the Commissioner about their schedule programme in connection with Swach Bharat Abhiyan week.
