Outlawed party leader shot dead in Bangladesh

Assailants equipped with firearms shot and hacked to dead a regional leader of an outlawed party at Sharshunadah under Jessore sadar upazila at around 1:30pm on Wednesday.The dead was indemnified as Mofzel alias Bere Mofzel alias Nakshal Mofzel, 45, regional leader of Biplabi Communist Party (M-L) and son of Shahjahan Ali of Maliat under the same upazila.Kotwali duty officer sub inspector Mamun told 5 Dariya News  that miscreants shot and hacked to death Mofzel at a tea –stall at around 1:30pm on Wednesday.‘The miscreants shot a bullet on the left chest of the victim and hacked his head with sharp weapon, ‘he added.

The police official also told that the dead was an accused in six cases including 3 murder cases with Kotwali police station.Eyewitnesses said confining at a tea- stall at Sharshunadah under Jessore sadar upazila unidentified miscreants shot and hacked to dead Mofzel after coming there by motorbikes. The victim came there few minutes before the incident. The miscreants left the scene after confirming the death of the extremist leader.Jahir Uddin, brother of the dead told journalists that nine miscreants riding on three motorbikes shot and hacked to death his brother while he was at a tea stall.Hospital sources told 5 Dariya News that the body was taken to his Maliat village based residence after post mortem examination in the afternoon.Villagers told that Mofzel was a notorious terrorist in Jessore and adjacent areas and also accused in cases with several police stations in Jessore, Jhenidah and Magura districts.Mohith Kumar Nath, president, Jessore sadar upazila unit Awami League told that intimacy was build up with Mofzel and a faction of the ruling party recently. ‘He was actually a man of Biplabi Communist Party’, he added.
