DDC approves Rs 98.62 lakh plan under MIDH

District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, approved an outlay of Rs.98.622 lakh under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for 2015-16 during a meeting of District Level Coordination Committee.The DDC, who is also Chairman of District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC), asked upon the Horticulture department Udhampur to converge the plan with MGNREGA for optimum benefit to the farmer community.Earlier, the DDC reviewed the achievements registered under the Mission during 2014-15. It was informed in the meeting that major components being taken up under MIDH during current year includes production and productivity improvement of fruit crops, up-gradation of nursery in private sector and vermi compost units besides establishment of new gardens, rejuvenation of old and senile Horticulture Plantation, creation of water sources, horticulture mechanization, protected cultivation and human resources development.Chief Horticulture Officer Udhampur, Mr. C. L. Sharma presented perspective plan of MIDH and gave detailed account of activities and components proposed in the plan.Additional District Development Commissioner, Arvind Sharma, Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Chief Horticulture Officer, Mr. C L Sharma, DSHO, CAHO and Area Marketing Officer Horticulture attended the meeting.
