Chering Dorjay inaugurates workshop on Cooperatives

Minister for Cooperatives, Chering Dorjay Tuesday inaugurated one day workshop cum awareness camp on the roles of cooperatives.The Minister said that the Cooperatives are an economic enterprise which play a meaningful role in uplifting the socio-economic condition of the members and local communities. He regretted that over the years most cooperatives have not been efficiently working but need is to improve their performance. The Minister appealed all the stakeholders to take steps with the objective to work on potential areas so that the available resources are tapped upto an optimum level and cooperative enterprise comes up as a tool for socio-economic changes. He assured that this workshop would give to the participants valuable inputs and the knowledge to be gained through the discussions on crucial aspects so that cooperative system of economy is rejuvenated and reengineered with fresh impetus. The workshop was attended by Registrar Cooperatives, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmed, SSP Budgam, Joint Registrars besides officers and other people.
