CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has asked the present dispensation to shun its insensitive attitude towards protesting NYC youth and implement last year’s cabinet decision on their adjustment in government services. He said that the Government has put the future of 6000 youth in jeopardy. In a statement issued here, Tarigami strongly demanded that Government must honour the Govt. Order No. 787-EDU- of 2014 dated October 22, 2014 and implement the same in letter and spirit. He asked the State Government to come clean on the issue and decide the fate of thousands of youth who have been unnecessarily discontinued from their services.

The present dispensation, Tarigami said has come up with new schemes covered under its recruitment policy but has brazenly disregarded the cabinet decision of the previous regime on absorption of NYC youth.  “The present Government talks much about the future of youth but at the same time, they have closed down options for youth to live peacefully,” Tarigami said while addressing the protesters.Tarigami said the youth were taken as contingent workers in School Education Department against the vacancies which were created when previous Government announced up gradation of 800 schools to their higher levels. “The government must continue with the same arrangement and engage the NYC youth without any further delay,” he added.

Expressing solidarity with the protesting NYC volunteers, Tarigami demanded the government must take a decision in order to end sufferings of the families directly or indirectly dependent on the volunteers. He also cautioned political mainstream to refrain from politicizing the sufferings of educated unemployed youth at the time of electioneering.“The tendency to exploit the sufferings of youth at the time of elections must be do away with and instead all the political parties must join their heads together to chalk out a comprehensive plan to address the menacing problem of unemployment,” Tarigami said while urging the PDP-BJP government to decide the fate of thousands of NYC youth who are demanding justice.
