Arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha reviewed at Samba, Rajouri

Deputy Commissioner Samba today reviewed arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha in a meeting here.Stressing for the availability of essential commodities DDC directed Assistant Director CAPD to ensure the supply of approved quota on priority basis. Concerned officers of PDD was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and schedule power cuts keeping in mind the religious festival.DDC further directed the health department to be ready in case of any medical emergency.DC also stressed upon the concerned for keeping check on the prices of eatables by frequent market checking. However arrangements related to security and traffic were also reviewed during the meeting.

 SSP Joginder Singh, ADC Pawan Sharma, ACD Samba, SDM Vijaypur, SDM Ghagwal, Tehsildars, BDOs and others were also present in the  meeting.

At Rajouri Deputy Commissioner  Shabir Ahmed Bhatt  convened a joint meeting of officers and civil society  to finalize the arrangements for celebration of Eid-ul-Azha.Additional Superintendent of Police, Tajinder Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Paramjeet Singh, Tehsildar Headquarter, Shahid Iqbal besides district officers, representatives of different religious organizations and prominent citizens attended the meeting.Arrangements related to security, maintenance of law and order, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, check on rates of eatables besides sanitation and cleanliness around Eidgahs and Mosques were discussed threadbare.

Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that all the arrangements are timely put in place . The Municipal authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness around Eidgahs within municipal limits so that people do not face any inconvenience whereas the officers of Food Safety were directed to keep a check on adulteration of various eatables besides keeping an eye on the markets to ensure availability of all essentials at reasonable rates. They were also directed to carry out regular market checking to keep anti-consumer practices at bay. Officers of  PDD and PHE  were asked to ensure un-interrupted power and water supply. Necessary instructions were also passed on to the officers of PWD, Transport, Health, CA&PD and Animal and Sheep Husbandry.Meanwhile, to fix prices of mutton, chicken and other commodities,  Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting of officers including ACR, AD CA&PD, AC LMD, AC Food Safety besides representatives of Beopar Mandal and Butcher’s Association.The meeting decided that the rates of chicken, mutton besides other commodities fixed in May, 2015 shall prevail. DDCalso directed the officers of Food Safety, Legal Metrology and CA&PD to strictly enforce the rates fixed in May, 2015 and stressed upon the representatives of Beopar Mandal and Butcher’s Association to refrain from indulging in anti-consumer practices.
