DLRC meeting held at Kargil

District Consultative Committee/District level review Committee Meeting of Kargil district  was Friday held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil here. In the meeting achievements and progress under Annual Credit Plan and various Government Sponsored Schemes was reviewed as on ending June 2015.Presenting the performance of various banks operating in the district, Lead District Manager, the convener of the meeting informed that total deposits of all banks in the district stood at Rs 847.24 crore and total advances stood at Rs. 270.97 crore as on 30th June, 2015, indicating a growth of 13.16% in deposits and 32% in advances over the quarter ending June, 2014. The priority sector of advances stood at Rs. 40.53 crore and agriculture advances at Rs.11.98 crore. The CD Ratio remained at 31.98% as on 30the June 2015.Under District Credit Plan 2015-16, banks have disbursed loans amounting to Rs. 15.56 crore under priority sector and Rs. 15.28 crore under Non Priority Sector. The total disbursement up to 30th June 2015 is Rs. 30.84 crore which is 18.63% of the ACP   target. 

Under Government Sponsored Schemes the achievements are less due to non availability of targets to the banks from the sponsoring agencies.Addressing the meeting, Chairman while expressing satisfaction on the overall development of banks in the district showed displeasure over pendency in Kissan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme with some banks, which is a priority of the Government. He called upon the banks as well as functionaries of the concerned line departments to focus on extending credit to agriculture sector because these sectors play a pivotal role in addressing unemployment and poverty in rural masses.Lead District Officer, RBI, while addressing the meeting stressed on awareness among the people about financial inclusion and financial literacy which is a priority of the Government. He requested line departments to coordinate with banks and conduct awareness programmes in the rural areas.The meeting was attended by representative from DRDA, Animal Husbandry Department, District Industries Centre, Social Welfare Department, Handicrafts, KVIB, Cooperatives, banks and other sponsoring agencies.
