NC ready to support PDP if it scraps law banning beef: Mohammad Akbar Lone

‘Court order result of Govt’s mishandling the case’

Stating that the judgment of the division bench of the high court on ban on sale of beef in the state was the “outcome of the mishandling of the case by the government”, National Conference leader and MLA Sonawari Akbar Lone has said the fact that the petitioner in this case being a deputy advocate general proves that people affiliated with RSS have been appointed on key positions.Talking to KNS, Lone said that Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs should “own the responsibility of the controversy and should resign on moral grounds.”He also said that NC is ready to support the ruling Peoples Democratic Party if it brings a bill in the Assembly for scrapping of article 298 A&B of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) which banning the slaughtering of bovine animals and sale of beef.

 “The fact that  the Deputy Advocate General Parimoksh Seth who has filed the controversial petition for ban on beef proves it beyond doubt that PDP-BJP coalition government headed is controlled and commanded from RSS headquarters Nagpur,” Lone told KNS.Alleging that Mufti government has appointed men of RSS and BJP backgrounds on key positions, Lone asked the government to disengage all those law officers who are directly or indirectly linked to BJP and RSS. “The judgment of the division bench of the high court is the total outcome of the mishandling of the case by the government and as such the government has hurt the sentiments of the majority Muslim community in the only Muslim majority state of the country,” he said.“National Conference is ready to support any legislation that may be brought before the assembly by any sitting legislator for scrapping article 298 A&B of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) banning the slaughtering of bovine animals and sale of beef,” he said.
