Turkish jets killed 60 Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in northern Iraq, authorities said on Friday.According to a report by the Dogan News Agency, 21 warplanes, including F-16s and F-4s, took part in the airstrikes against 64 PKK targets in Qandil mountains in northern Iraq, Xinhua news gency reported.Earlier on Friday, a civilian was killed and three Turkish policemen were injured in an attack by PKK militants in Diyarbakir province.The Turkish military's operations against terrorists inside and outside the country will continue, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told a joint press conference with visiting European Union Council President Donald Tusk on Thursday.

He added that the aerial campaigns against terrorist hideouts over the last two days have yielded efficient results."Our determinacy in this fight [against terror] should be known very well by everybody," Davutoglu said.Davutoglu said the operations in northern Iraq were not continuous, but that forces would enter and exit when it was "needed".On Wednesday, Turkish troops conducted a cross-border operation into northern Iraq to hunt down PKK militants. Airstrikes were also involved in the campaign.Clashes between the army and the PKK have been intensified since mid-July, claiming dozens of the lives of security personnel.The PKK is designated a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the European Union and the US.
