A woman who lost her family in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots told a court here on Thursday that Congress leader Sajjan Kumar instigated mobs to kill Sikhs.Testifying as prosecution witness in the case, Sheela Kaur identified Sajjan Kumar as involved in the riots and said he instigated the mob to kill Sikhs.She told District and Sessions Judge Kamlesh Kumar that the mob killed three of her family members -- husband Balbir Singh, father-in-law Basant Singh and brother-in-law Balihar Singh -- after dragging them out of their house.

The court posted the matter for September 17 for further recording of her statement.Sajjan Kumar, Brahmanand Gupta and Ved Prakash are facing trial in connection with the killing of men in Sultanpuri area in west Delhi during the riots that erupted after then prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her security guards.The court framed various charges, including those of murder and rioting, against them.The CBI filed two charge sheets against Sajjan Kumar and the others in January 2010 in riots cases registered in 2005 on the recommendation of the Justice G.T. Nanavati Commission, which had probed the sequence of events leading to the violence.
