5 cases registered with regard to spurious pesticide recently - Sukhbir Singh Badal

Punjab Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today disclosed that five cases had been registered with regard to spurious pesticides used to control whitefly pest attack on cotton in the Malwa belt of the State in the recent past.Mr Badal also directed that samples of pesticide used to tackle whitefly pest be taken from various pesticides distributors across the State. He also directed Punjab Director General of Police Sumedh Singh Saini to register cases right up to the level of manufacturers of the spurious pesticides.A high level committee has also been constituted under ADGP Crime, IG Intelligence, IG Bathinda and DIGs of Bathinda and Ferozepur to take appropriate action in the matter. The Agriculture department has also been directed to plug sale and storage of spurious pesticides. 

Among the cases registered on the basis of complaints received from Agriculture department. The cases include those against Shubhan Goel and Vijay Kumar of Bathinda.A case under the insecticides act has also been registered against Rattan Chand, Manish Kumar, Harish Kumar. Sonu Kumar and Jagsir Singh at Longowal in Sangrur district. In Mansa on a complaint from the agriculture department, a case has been registered against  Darshan Singh Secretary, (Avtar Singh Salesman. Ms. Laxmi Agro Chemicals, Loha Khera Road, Longwoal through partner  Manish Kumar, Rattan Chand, Ms. United Fertilizers  and Chemicals, Grain Market Longwoal through  partners, Soni Kumar and Jagdish Kumar. 

In Ludhiana, case has been registered Fervile India  Agrotech Ltd. K-2 Textile Colony, Industrial Area-A, Ludhiana through  Sh. Vivek Aggarwal. In Ferozepur case has been registered against Ms. Bajaj Fertilizer Co.  Village Gundad Dandi, Distt., Ferozepur through  partner Sh. Kulbir Singh, Ms. Sardar Chem Fertilizer Industry, Abohar, through partner Sh. Jagat Parriwal.The Agriculture department has taken more than 100 samples from Ludhiana, 162 from Bathinda, 10 from Muktsar, 8 from Fazilka, 5 from Mansa and 6 from Ferozepur.
