Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali inspects CAPD stores

Emphasizes on construction of ultra-modern godowns

Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CA&PD) and Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today inspected the CAPD food store at Chatha and Central Store near University of Jammu.During his visit to the Chatha food store, the Minister directed the officers to repair and renovate the godowns as well as maintain hygienic conditions in the stores. He directed use of ultra-modern technology to reduce the workload on the labourers.Zulfkar said that the link roads to the stores need to be constructed on priority basis so as to ensure that the dirt does not enter the stores and food grains can be stored properly.Also, the drains should be made along the stores for the proper disposal of the waste material, the Minister added.

The Minister directed Naib Tehsildar to demarcate land for the construction of ultra modern godown of CAPD department in Chatha and meanwhile instructed the officers to repair at least one godown by the end of next month.The Minister directed removal of encroachments from the CAPD land in Chatha and instructed the AEE Mechanical Stores to lift all the tar drums from the Central store immediately. He also directed auctioning of gunny bags lying in the stores.Director CAPD Jammu, G.S. Chib and other officers accompanied the Minister during his visit.
