NDA Committed To Realise Vajpayee’s Dreams Of Making The National Capital As World’ Most Well Planned City

President Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today lashed at Congress for decelerating the pace of development initiated by NDA and BJP governments to make the capital of world’s largest democracy as most well planned city of the world. He said that Congress led centre and Delhi governments manipulated the development plans to fill the coffers of its coterie. Addressing an election rally in the favour of BJP candidate Mr. Rajiv Babbar at Tilak Nagar , Mr. Badal said that the last BJP government had scaled a complete layout plan for the overall development of Delhi and NDA government did its best to complete the work on these plans in a time bound manner. He said that even Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was also set up during the BJP government of Delhi in May 1995 and total ground work and planning was done by BJP government in the subsequent two-three years. Mr. Badal said that former Prime Minister Attal Bihari Vajpayee had also expressed his desire to develop this city as a model of excellence while inaugurating the Delhi metro in December 2002. He said that these were not just the dreams as Delhi has such a high potential that it could be easily developed as one of the top 10 well planned cities of the world and NDA was committed to realise these dreams.

Expressing surprise over tall claims of Congress party, Mr. Badal questioned that how a party could pat its back for development after 15 years of rule in Delhi, when the state was still facing the shortage of basic amenities like water supply and sanitation. He said that speed of the city was still hanged in the heavy traffic jams and everyone used to think twenty times before travelling from one place to other. He said that after NDA rule the speed of development in Delhi dangled as Congress led UPA in collusion with Delhi government handed over these projects to its friendly companies and shared the booty. He said that Congress was making a mockery of Delhi people by quoting Delhi as a developed state as the common man of the city has been contained in the trap of distresses only due to corrupt and mismanaged policies of Congress’ Delhi government. He said that congress has only two things in its basket and those were corruption and inflation.

Mr. Badal appealed the voters of Delhi for the record victory of SAD-BJP candidates to ensure the overall development of the state. Later, Akali President known for his micro poll management held a number ‘Nukar Meetings’ with prominent personality in Hari Nagar and Rajaouri Garden areas.
