Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the State government would soon enhance the old age pension.He said a new health scheme would also be launched on November 1, under which smart cards to be issued to the beneficiaries enabling them to get treatments at any hospital with a cost up to Rs 30,000.Deputy CM also laid the foundation stone of 30-Bed Community Health Centre near Shimlapuri which would come up with a cost of Rs. 4.25 crore.Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal also inaugurated a 30-Bed Community Health Centre at Sector 32 A, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana which has come up at a cost of Rs. 4.9 crore. There are a total of 11 Community Health Centres under Urban Health Mission besides 60 Urban Primary Health Centres under repair and renovation in Punjab. Ludhiana has six, Jalandhar has three and Amritsar has two Community Health Centres (Urban), out of which first one is at Ludhiana was inaugurated by the Deputy CM.

The Deputy CM was accompanied by Health Minister Mr Surjit K Jyani, Ludhiana East MLA Mr Ranjit Singh Dhillon, Chairman Punjab Health Systems Corporation Mr Barjinder Singh Brar, Principal Secretary Health Mrs. Vinnie Mahajan, Director Health Dr. Bhag Mal, BJP District President Mr Parveen Bansal, besides several others.While addressing a function organised by MLA Mr Ranjit Singh Dhillon in Sector 32 A on Chandigarh Road, here, Mr Badal announced a grant of Rs 120 crore for the repair and construction of the roads of the Ludhiana East constituency.Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal said that an amount of Rs 1,000 crore would be spent on the maintenance of electricity cables in Ludhiana city so that the residents can get uninterrupted power supply.
