Sagar, Bhalla lay foundation of Satwari Model Village

Maintaining that the government has ensured equitable development of the state, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that certain parties in a state of frustration are trying hard to create a regional pide and negate the achievements registered by the Coalition.The Minister was addressing a mammoth gathering after laying foundation stone of Model village at Satwari, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Mr. Raman Bhalla, Director Rural Development, Mr. Shafiq Raina, Assistant Commissioner Development, Mr. K.K. Sidha, Senior officers of various departments, Panches, Sarpanches were present on the occasion.

Sagar said that the government has introduced several welfare schemes and programmes, which have been instrumental in changing the socio-economic profile of the people, besides ensuring sustained development of the state. He said the developmental programmes have been introduced on equitable basis without giving any preferential treatment to any particular area.

The Minister said that the focused attention has been given on ensuring that the benefit of various schemes should reach the genuine beneficiaries. He said that people should come forward and avail the benefit of these programmes by doing so they would be exhibiting a participatory role in day to day governance which forms the basis of the democratic set up.The Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture while speaking on the occasion highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the government for the development of the state. He said that the developmental programmes undertaken by the present coalition has no parallels in the recorded history of Jammu and Kashmir.Bhalla asked the people not to pay heed to the pisive propaganda of certain parties who want to pide the people for their ulterior political motives. He said that the UPA Government has been quite liberal in extending various schemes which have immensely contributed in the development of the state.The model village being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 1.01 crore would be having all the basic amenities of sanitation, playgrounds, Common Facility Centre and other related things for the general convenience of the people of the area.
